I've been here before...

Not to India that is, but rather wide awake in the very early hours of the morning finishing up last minute necessities prior to a trip half a world away.   Everything has come together quite well for the trip, except of course my failure to heed Paul's advice to get a good night's rest before embarking on a 24+ hour journey...

But that said, even if it's a difficult or uncomfortable journey, or even the most uncomfortable, unsettling travel experience I've ever had, I realized today that it could never, ever compare to the journey that so many women and children make every day after escaping a life of present day slavery and its untold sufferings.

I'm looking forward to having the honor of meeting some of them and the remarkable people who work tirelessly with them.  I set out with a strong dose of humility, hoping that I can be of some benefit to their efforts.

I think everyone has some

I think everyone has some experiences that they do not expect will change their lives, others go in search of those exact endeavors. I hope that this trip will be as fulfilling for you personally as it will be beneficial to those you seek to help. You'll be in my thoughts these next few weeks.

all the best!

I want to wish you all the best with the work you'll be doing. I'm anticipating your future entries to hear about the people you'll meet and the learnings you'll no doubt have. You're always managing to be off somewhere you can be part of a real difference being made.
