This fabulous, unisex pendant .75" in diameter on 18" sterling silver chain.is a modern reinterpretation of an ancient coin.
One side depicts 'mukti,' the word for freedom in Bengali - something Made By Survivors artisans have fought so hard to achieve. Bengali is the native language of most of our jewelers. On the other side is a representation of Ganesha, the elephant god, a symbol for overcoming obstacles.
The Mukti coin is a stylish way to express your concern for human rights, and an encouraging reminder that even the most daunting obstacles can be overcome. The piece was designed by Dianna Badalament, our first jewelry trainer, in honor of Paul Suit, our Managing Director, who lives and works in India, and sports both of these images as tattoos.
